Me and my husband are farely new foster parents. We fostered a 9 month old in November. She has a 6 yr old sister who they were looking to place along with her. They found a home for both of them.
Recently we got a call to take in both of them as Respite care. We have had them for a week now and they will be gone soon.
I know we are supposed to stick together as a foster parent community but i was very disguisted on how the children were sent to me. They smelled so bad like their clothes havent been washed in years. Their foster parent only sent two pairs of pants for two weeks like she just threw things together. She also sent along dirty clothes in the bag. I understand the 6 year old she plays and may get dity but the baby shouldnt have smelled the way she did. Also is it ok for their foster mother to constantly call me? She kept calling me but i wasnt near the girls when she called . I let the 6 yr old speak to her on Christmas eve and she started crying and was very sad. I dont know what she said to her but i couldnt bare to see her that way again. She wasnt even that sad when she left from a visit with her birth parents.
Im stuck here because i want to say something to the case worker about the foster parent care for the child but then again i dont want to see the girls misplaced again.
Tell the social worker! You must. Write down everything you wrote to us here and put it in an email. Something seems wrong and I am glad you are looking out for the kids.
