I am interested in becoming a foster parent, but I am currently on disability. Will they turn me down because of this? If it matters, I'm on disability for anxiety. I live in Franklin county Ohio.
In most areas of the country, it does not matter where your money to live on comes from, as long as it is reliable income and enough for you to live on. Being on public assistance is not usually enough to turn down a foster parent.
BUT - the reason you are on disability can indeed be a barrier to providing foster care. They will want a letter from your doctor saying that he believes you can parent children. And if they have concerns in addition to that, they'll ask very detailed, pointed questions about the things thta send you into anxiety, your coping mechanisms, how you'd handle the kids if your coping mechanism wasn't working, etc.
Your best bet is to go to an orientation session, and ask. If the answer is fuzzy, go ahead through the classes and into the homestudy, and you'll get your answer eventually. The classes and all are free, so it's not like you're out any money, and the classes will tell you a lot about what you would experience being a foster parent, so you'd have a good idea about whether you could handle it without devolving into your anxiety issues.
I wish you success!

Congrats on your decisions, it is so rewarding!
I agree with PP, the money source will not be an issue, but the diagnosis could be an obstacle. As long as your therapist and doctor do not think your anxieties will interfere with parenting and you have a good support system, then you should have no trouble. The only way to find out is to attend training and ask.
