Foster vs Private Home Study

I just finalized my home study. I went through a private agency. My intent was to do a private adoption. I am now looking at children on the Heart Gallery. Can I use my private home study to adopt children from the state?

It probably depends on your state, but it is my understanding that you would just need to update your home study with the state to use it. Good luck :)
