What is your experience with alcohol/drug exposure?

Can someone give me some BTDT experiences of parenting kids with drug/alcohol exposure? We are trying to get a reality check of what it's like actually parenting these kids who have FAS/FAE/pFAS, ARND, etc etc. What sort of parenting skills did you find helpful, and what sort of difficulties have you dealt with? Any stories or struggles you could share would be fantastic.
