I have a question about TPR where the parents aren't being offered any services, RU is not the goal, and one sibling has already been removed but parental rights not terminated.
Although we've been told this is a "sure" thing...we also know that the whole thing can do a 180!
This is a case of severe neglect, where 2 infants have died and dad has a felony for battery and served time for the death of one of the children.
In your experience, is this a "sure" case for TPR to be granted? Just trying to keep a balanced outlook.:thanks:
In the system, nothing is ever a sure thing. Without having any RU services it would take a lot for someone to regain custody. By the time a case is scheduled for TPR the case has been built. Once TPR is granted it is rarely overturned.

Thanks. That helps makes things clearer. Yes, no services are being offered.
I believe they (CPS) are trying to obtain a hearing date to TPR but the court appearance where the case is diposed (?) keeps getting continued (biological parents manage to have an issue each time and the judge grants a continuance). This last court date was only continued for five days though.
We're just waiting and being patient with the system. Trying not to hold our breath until no more continuances are given.
