Hi, I was adopted from Children's Home Society in Greensboro, NC. I have found my birth mother and I am still searching for my birth father. At one point in time I found a link to a NC birth index in which I was able to find out what hospital I was born and a few other things regarding my birth. I have since lost this link and cannot find it by just doing a google search. It included things like date of birth, time of birth, sex of baby, parents age at time of birth, apgar scores, and even the bed # I was born in. I was born in Winston Salem, NC, Forsyth County on February 28, 1983 if this helps. Thanks in advance for your help!! Please email krh0228@hotmail.com if you have this link.
I am also a CHS adult adoptee. (Jan 1969)
The data you are looking for is here: The Odum Institute: NC Vital Statistics
"North Carolina vital statistics data files that are available for public use. These files were created and made available by the State Center for Health Statistics (SCHS) in response to numerous requests from users of vital statistics data who desire analysis different from that normally published by the SCHS. The Howard W. Odum Institute for Research in Social Science at UNC - Chapel Hill maintains the North Carolina Statistics Dataverse to increase public awareness and access to these data."
It is not easy to parse though it, but it is very detailed.
I hope this helps you.
I am still searching.
