I remember as a kid "hating" my parents at some point (those teenage years).... And bless my parents for not throwing me out. But since this is something that seems to inevitably arise at some point in parenting, what have you done to cope with that hatred and just the difficulties that come with raising children?
My parents tried really hard to communicate their side of things and I'm grateful for that. I didn't always understand why things HAD to be a certain way, so I feel like communication is super important.
My ten-year-old proclaimed just this very evening that he didn't want to be a part of a family.
And so it begins.
When I get animosity from my kids (no teens yet), I don't really sweat it. I guess I just realize that they're kids, with big emotions they're trying to learn to get a grip on, so I just let them know that I love them - and that I'll love them no matter what.
