My best piece of advice would be to get educated. Adoption is not as simple as it seems, and sometimes adoptive couples find themselves in over their heads due to lack of education. Find classes, talk to other adoptive couples, birth parents, and most importantly adoptees about how to make your adoption as healthy and successful as possible.
