For a month now, I've been trying to persuade my baby that she needs to start eating solids, but she won't do it. She tried a few things at first but will now clamp her lips tightly shut whenever solid food heads her way. Baby food, mashed up table food . . . she's just not having it. Any thoughts on getting her to eat real food?
As a baby, I absolutely refused any solids until I was a year old. My mom was no newbie- she had three boys before me. But nothing she did worked, I simply would not do it. You might just have to keep trying and wait it out!

Ha! Annaleece, that's so good to hear! And you didn't starve to death! My second child wouldn't eat solids until he was like 10 months old, but he had some other medical things going on and wasn't nearly as active as my baby now, so I didn't worry about it as much.
