Hello everyone,,We do foster care and we have friends in the church doing foster and adopt (very good friend just adopted two). The most important advice I would give, in the amount of time I have: this is a ministry. Whoever gets in to this needs to really examine the intent of their own heart. If one is doing this to fill a void, find meaning, have the comfort of a child, etc., then don't do it. You will give and give and potentially never receive. But it is a true glory to God and a work for His Kingdom, IMO, and an unquestionable blessing for the child. Sometimes you will get all of your human parenting desires fulfilled, but just as many times you will be devastated if you are expecting the child to fulfill your desires.https://youporn.wiki/It, in the end, is a true joy. I just always emphasize that it is not for the foster parent, primarily; it is a love act, carried out by the grace of Christ, to selflessly give to another. Starting from there, one can enjoy the filial benefits, without crashing into despair when they are lacking, or when the child moves on.
