I am new to fostering. I hope to foster to adopt but my state doesn’t have that program so I take the risk of fostering knowing they could go back. My heart is breaking because I have two girls 4 and 14 months and they will likely go back. I have had them for about 8 months. I am being lectured by DHS for not bridging but I was never given mom/dad contact info. I feel like even though I give detailed reports to dhs worker following dr visits it isn’t enough. Mom and dad sometimes come but often don’t. Mom wants judge to order me to move dr to where she can take the bus but she doesn’t show at the other appointments that the bus does go to. Just feeling defeated and like I am never enough for dhs. But mom and dad do the bare minimum and it is all good.

It’s tough when your efforts don’t feel fully recognized. You’re clearly giving your best, and while the system can be frustrating, your dedication to the kids is making a difference.
