Hello everyone. I have a granddaughter in foster care for the last 19 months. I found out September 11 this year. She has two sisters and they will soon all have their parents rights all terminated by the state and be open for adoption. There is obviously much more to this story but everyone involved needs prayer that God's hand will be seen in this tradgedy.
One question: Is there anything in case law that give blood related relatives priority in an adoption case?
Thanks in advance and God bless you for this site.

Some states allow kinship placements. It's my understanding, that it's better to make contact with the agency before termination. An interested party would start by contacting the worker involved. Be very polite and clear about who you are as they have to be very careful to protect the children. A lawyer may be another avenue to check. Also, grandparents have certain rights in some states. Sorry I can't help more.

Thank you for your reply.
I have already contacted the agency and they are set to adopt my granddaughter and her sisters to the foster parents. I politely asserted that I should be the one to adopt my granddaughter and so they effectively cut me off with the stonewall effect. I retained a lawyer and the court ordered them to facilitate a visit. I have just returned home from that supervised visit.
Now I am actually attempting to adopt. Parental rights have not all been terminated as yet. I have requested an additional visit that it is to be more grandpa-like... We'll see...
The judge, case worker, and guardian ad litum all want to keep the girls together. That appears to weaken my position as a prospective adoptive parent because I am related to only one of the girls. That is why I am looking for case law, to strengthen my position.
In the mean time I am directing my attorney to focus on my granddaughter. If the state wants to keep the girls together then I am willing to take all three.
