Thanks to all for prayers for Kelly and her family. Kelly's funeral was Friday, one day after her oldest child turned 17. The children have a wonderful Dad who had his priorities in the right place.
In Kelly's honor, I would like to encourage all to take a moment every day, to create memories with your children. Kelly fought her cancer with courage and an amazing warped sense of humor. I couldn't tell you how many times she literally had me in tears over her hysterical "Chemo stories". Over these past few months, Kelly took every possible opportunity to create good memories for her family, right up to her last days. Kelly realized that it's the little moments that count. You don't need to spend lots of money or create elaborate vacations to create memories. Simply playing a game together can accomplish much more.
Kelly's cause was the foster children of our community. She fought for kids to be treated with respect and dignity, and to have their needs met. Many of the kids in Kellys care, never had school pictures until in her home. As I wrote out that check this year, for just 1 child, I realized she was doing the same for 6 kids. If anyone is looking for a charitable cause as the holiday seasons roll around, look towards your local children and youth service. In my county, 100% of donations go directly to the kids.
Again thanks to all for your prayers and support. DimasMom
