I was born in Erie, PA but adopted through Social Services in Jamestown, NY. I was in foster care for 3 months. My name during those three months was Cindy. I was born on 1-29-1973.
The adoption was final 1 year after birth.
Please reply if any of this sounds familiar.

Hello Traci!
I was browsing through all the posts and I was so shocked to read yours! I am also an adoptee searching for my birthfamily. I was adopted in Chautauqua County also in 1970-71 at age 5, Helen Burlingame was also MY social worker & I believe the judge was the same too. I was adopted by persons from Clymer, NY tho, not Jamestown & I was born in Newfane NY 4-3-65. I know searching here in a small community is really tough, as everyone is so tight lipped. What caught my interest is how you obtained the non-identifying information, as I sent my moneys to Albany NY only to lose out. My adoptive brother and his wife adopted two children from Erie, Pa, however they wouldn't fit your criteria. They too, finalized the adoptions here in their county, not Pa.
Please email me when you read this, as I would love to talk with you further! Happy to see someone close to home!

Wow, I just saw the name of my case worker and it was also H. Burlingame. This has answered my question as to whether or not they brought babies in from other states to NY. I still dont know what agency I was through (Catholic charities or what not)
I was born april 1972 possibly in Jamestown but not completely sure. And in a Foster home for 3 months as well. It is strange to here from 2 people besides me whose fate was handled by the same woman. This is the most info I have got during my whole search lol. My Non ID was never sent back.
What a small world. I was born in Dunkirk, and Helen Burlingame was my case worker too. I was in a foster home in Jamestown from 68-73, until I was adopted in 1973 at age 8.
