My husband and I actually hired them last week to find his birth mother. We gave them the info on Thursday and they made contact with her by Monday. The women that run it are awesome and did everything they could to encourage birthmom to talk to my husband. Unfortunatly it doesn't look like she wants to but at least my husband has her name and a little more info. I was surprised how fast they were able to find her since the adoption was 47 years ago in a maternity home. I would totally recommend their services.
I hired givenright in April of 2008 and have had such a bad time with it.
I would not recommed any to them. In May i got a call from Jennifer saying she found my son and would be talking to him that day or the next day. She called me back later that day saying that she had talk to him and he was excited and all that she told me that he was going to call her back after he talk to his mom and dad ( he did not know he was adopted) I ask her to give him my info when he called her back i sent in my final payment and to this day july 9 2008 i still have not gotten the info about my son. I have been lied to my phones messages have meen ignored my text messages have been ignored.
I was raped when i was 15 and got pregnant with my son and ended up putting him up for adoption. I feel like i have been raped all over again.
So any one looking in to givenright please be carful I dont want any one to go through what I have gone through with them. I am fighting to get 200 dollars of the 400 back.
If any one has any questions please feel free to email me any time my email address is jackie.roney@yahoo.com
I have had a HORRIBLE experience with Givenright.com and would not recommend it to anyone! I paid my $200 retainer in May, 2008. On June 10, 2008, the owner called me and said she had names of my biological mother and father, grandparents, etc. In an EMAIL...in WRITING...she said to send the other $200 via Paypal and she would send me the info via US mail and email that same day. Today is July 9 and I still have not received any information. She will not respond to emails or phone calls. When she did, back in June, it has been all lies. She actually spoke to me two days ago and said when she got back in the office that day she would send the information. She still has not done it. For anyone searching, DO NOT go through the psychological heartache (and damage) that this company seems to put some people through! Please check the Better Business Bureau before getting their services! If you do go through them, send every communication via email so you have documentation of the lies that you are told. I have begged and pleaded with Givenright for my information and she simply will not give it to me.

I connected with them mid june and gave them the 200.00 for holding. they called me the next day with a bit of info and not much. now i have called constantly and to this date they have ignored my emails and have not responeded to my voice mails. i feel that ive been HAD! and iwill never see that money refunded again!! Thank god I came across a gal named Cher Caldwell. with in one day she gave me more info than Given rights has. I also want to take them to the BBB Im angry at them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM STAY AWAY FROM THEM>!
I actually should update my story too. After Jennifer told us she contacted my husband's mother I looked into it further and figured out there was NO WAY it could be!!! I have tried to contact her over and over to get the second half of our payment back and she won't respond. I am getting an attorney next week if someone wants to contact me and we can go at this together I would be happy to share info!!!

I have deleted a number of responses on this thread for violation of Adoption.com's agency discussion guidelines. I have had experince with givenright if you have any questions you can contact me at jackie.roney@yahoo.com
For those of you that posted, please contact me at erinpfloyd@msn.com I also would like to share "information.
My thread was taken down from here. I understand that.
But, please know that I was contacted by Givenright.com after I created a profile on adoption.com. I DID NOT seek out Givenright.com. I'm not sure how it's connected, but ya'll want to remove comments about them, but people are getting hurt by them AFTER posting on YOUR website. In my opinion, adoption.com owes it to the people they are trying to support to warn them of scams.
People are crawling out of the woodwork who have have had the same experience with this "company". Any suggestions on how to warn people if we can't do it on the very website that that issue is starting from.
How are you protecting us if we can't excersize our Constitutional Rights to protect ourselves?
