Just wanted to say that I wish you luck in your search. I'm also 52 and both my aparents are deceased. It's hard to be patient when you know your bparents are also getting older or could also be deceased before you find them.
I'll think good thoughts for you.

thanks for your support, it good to know someone actually reads these posts even though i know they do, it sometimes seems hopeless......i have so much info and even pictures of bio mom it seems like i could find but so far nothing............best of life to you and may God Bless......Debbie
Pictures of your bio Mom - how wonderful. Do you look like her at all? I wish I had pictures of my bparents. To know what combination contributed to my appearance would be great. I never had children so I've never looked at anyone that was a blood relative. I should soon have my non-identifying information from the adoption agency which hopefully will answer some of my questions. I find it facinating to think about my file gathering dust for 50 years and now someone is going to find it and open it. Hope the case worker took good notes and my bparents were honest. It's nice to relate to someone in my age bracket that's searching. So many that post and are searching are so young, they have time on their side. Wish I'd started this earlier but as long as I had my aparents in my life I really didn't feel the need.
Again, I'll think good thoughts for you.
it is nice too have pictures, i have 2 small black and whites that my bio mom gave to my adopted mom to be given to me...which she did and along with 2 letters she had written shortly after the adoption took place.......i have saved them all these years in their original envelope and i imagine they are almost considered antiques by now..........lol.........at our age this isnt funny anymore!!........but yes i do look somewhat like her but not nearly the resemblance that my second oldest daughter has............it was always a mystery as to her being much different looking than my other 5 kids, but then she did resemble the others at the same time............and then i remembered the pics. and walla..........she is the spit and image of my bio mom.........my husband and i were asked if we were sister and brother in our younger days, our coloring is similar and his family gene pool is like looking at a huge family they all look alike.......i have had my non id info for years and sort of just forgot about it until Julie was born....then she ended up with green eyes a different mouth and body and hence the bio.......both bio parents have green eyes..........mine, my husband and all 5 other children have brown eyes......so it has been fun looking at the resemblence............thanks for caring and your interest...........most people take their gene pool for granted, but we know better dont we ??????..................best to you and may God Bless, let me know when you recieve your non id. info......im interested........and by the way i realized after your first post that i had a type o and i am almost 51 not 52....like after 50 it matters ..........ha ha......bye for now, Debbie
