I am a 25 year old adoptee from Illinois, my birthdate is 5/19/77. I would like to be on television or radio to tell my story, so that I can find my birthfamily. My wedding is coming up this year and I would really like to find them before this time.
I am a social worker and I work in the area of adoptions. I was adopted at birth, my adopted parents divorced when I was three, my mother has been married three times since then, and you would think that I would be really messed up after that. After loads of counseling, I decided to become a counselor so that others could learn from my story and have some hope in the adoption process.
If any of this sounds interesting please feel free to email me.

I'm in the media business, but not to the point I could help you directly. Compose a brief synopsis of your story and send it to every television network (broadcast or cable) - multiple people in multiple departments; newspapers - don't limit yourself to your area but think of papers that might have the resources or interest in your story - Chicago, your hometown paper, USA Today, Washington papers, New York, Los Angeles, etc; radio stations and radio syndicated programs; columnists with an interest in adoption or family issues; magazines - People, adoption oriented publications, family or counseling publications. Just blanket the media with your story and the liklihood that someone somewhere will respond is great. If it's a smaller media, then use that contact to start climbing. Most people respond to others when they know there's a need. As a counselor, you probably know that. Good luck.

Cindi,
I just wanted to say congrats on getting married, and I really hope your birthparents can be there. I'm sure they will be so proud of you when you find them. Don't ever give up hope!
