I called several groups only to find out that home studies are done by only a few private agencies. I live in Pinal county and was told of only 2 phone numbers out of the Phoenix area. I hope you have some luck with this small bit of information. I would try the H&W people to get names and numbers is possible.
I'm not recommending anyone but you can try St. Joseph the worker (contracted through DES) they come out to your home.
Where exactly do you live? We are on the border of Pinal county and were able to get info through several agencies but are just getting into making the move for an intake.

Thanks for the information. I did finally get some information from the Health and welfare system about foster care to adoption but have had to put things on hold due to loss of my job. I will get back to the system as soon as I have found work.
I am so happy to have found this place for people in Arizona.
We are wanting to adopt ASAP.
We live in Maricopa, and our situation is ..
Where do we start?
We want to adopt through the state and get the kids out of foster care! We do want a 2 year old and a 4 year old
Although, we are not married (april 3rd is the date) where do we stand?
Can we begin anything at all at this point?
I used Arizona Family Adoption Services, for our homestudy and certification, then found a private adoption. They are reasonable in price, but don't match you to birthparents, they just do the paperwork necessary for the state. They have been GREAT though, and highly recommend them.

Birthparents isnt a big concern for us.
We do want to adopt two older children. Well, I mean, not infants.
We'd like a 2 year old and a 4 year old. Give or take..
