Hello everyone,
It seems as if who is doing the "most" talking on these boards from the adoptive couples point-of-view is the women. (I could be wrong). I know that birthmothers in open adoption choose the couple, but frankly- in almost every case, it seems they can give as much love themselves to their baby as an adoptive mom could, and so it seems it often may come down to choosing a father figure for their baby.
So, more specifically: What things do you look for in adoptive FATHERS.
I'd be very interested to hear some responses,
Thanks bunches,
Anna

Hello Anna,
Welcome to the board! And what a great topic too! In the adoption community, you hear from both the aMoms, and the bMoms ..but not too much from the aDads or bDads - and their point of view is just as important!
I know when choosing an adoptive couple for my daughter ...I wanted her to have a father who was around a lot. When I was young, my Dad was away on business, so I wanted more for my daughter. My daughter's aDad is a wonderful man ...very funny, is very good with kids, hard worker and good provider, and he's not gone too much. So, I'm very happy with how things turned out. :)
Anyone else?
