Poland Adoption Process - New to Forum
June 8, 2003
Any current recommendations for agencies to use for adopting a sibling pair from Poland. We have received St. Mary's Intl. info. and have sent for Catholic Charities of Chicago. Any others?
Is there a good resource for learning more about the pros/cons of Polish adoption? Is there any benefit to being of Polish descent? Are the orphanage conditions comparable to other E. Europe instituions? The time frames from start to finish seem to vary widely, as does the aamount of medical information - is this still the norm?
Any information that is current would be appreiated. Feel free to email me at: jzaz432815@aol.com or post to this site.
Thank you and good luck to all awaiting new loved ones!

I would like more info on Saint Marys. My husband and I are polish, and have 3 biological children. I had a son before I was married that I placed for adoption thru Gladney, so I have a tie to adoption as well. After our 3rd child my husband had a "v" . We went to a POlish store in Michigan recently and talked to a lady who does some with Polish in need, so we thought that would be so rewarding to adopt. Is it difficult? How much etc. If someone could email me at home, I my email should be on profile, or my aol IM name is n2mermaidz (I collect mermaids), please feel free to contact me. I tried to email the man who was talking about Saint Marys but the site would not let me email him. SO if you see this please email me. Thank you!
I called and talked to someone there.. they were very nice, but told me that they only can get children over 3 years old. But talked to another agency in North Carolina and they said that was not true. We were looking for a child between 18 months and 2.5 years. Any luck with other agencies? I think we are looking else where, it seems Poland is difficult to work in. My family is Polish and that would be my first choice!! Good Luck. Mona
