I was told the day after my mother's death she had a daughter in 1963. She was 14 years old at the time and basically forced to give her up. Now I have found someone with similar info, ages of parents (14 & 15 was pretty unusual in 1963), birth city, birth year, Birthmom stayed in maternity home as my mother did, adopted around the same time my sister would have been after a stay in a foster home. How does one confirm it? My mother died and can not consent. The birthfather is still alive does he have any say about the info? I just want to know if I find her or if this is her there is a way to confirm. I don't know her birthday, only her birth name.
HI, MY NAME IS RACHEL. I HOPE FOR YOUR SAKE THAT THIS WOMAN YOU'VE FOUND IS YOUR SISTER! NOW LET ME SUGGEST TO YOU THAT THE BIRTHFATHER'S NAME SHOULD BE ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE. HE CAN CALL THE AGENCY SHE WAS ADOPTED THROUGH AND SIGN A CONSENT TO RELEASE THE INFORMATION OF HER ADOPTION IF SHE CONTACTS THE AGENCY HERSELF. ANOTHER OPTION, WHICH IS QUITE AN EXPENSIVE ONE IS THAT THE BIRTHFATHER AND THIS OTHER WOMAN COULD HAVE A DNA TEST DONE. IF I WERE YOU, I'D TRY THE ADOPTION AGENCY FIRST. GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND I HOPE THIS HELPS, I'LL CROSS MY FINGERS AND MY HEART FOR YOU SWEETIE!~RACHEL

Get in touch with the person you think is your sister and request a DNA test from your physician or hospital. You'll need to bring your sister and the procedure is painless. They are not too expensive and will give you the confirmation you need. However, you can't request DNA tests from everyone you find that approximates your sister's age and circumstance. You still need to try and get more info about your sister from the state.
You should still try to get the non ID from the state so that at least they can confirm for you a DOB.

FIGHT FOR ADOPTEE RIGHTS!
Well I had sent a letter to this woman's house and received a reply via telephone from her b/f. They said they would get back to me in a few days they needed to round up some info. I'm hoping she has the lazy eye like most of the family does ONLY on my mother's side. My uncle, mother, brother, myself, and son all have gotten it so far. So if she has got it that may be the RED FLAG investing in a DNA test is appropriate. Even if she doesn't if most of the info matches then we can go from there, or maybe the birthfather will help me. Thanks for the responses!
