We are getting ever closer to completing our adoption of an 8 yo girl from Guatemala. We have preapproval from the embassy and are in PGN.
Our attorney was recently in Guatemala and spent some time with our daughter. We had sent down a photo album several months ago. Our daughter came to our attorney with the photo album and asked about the picture of the house. She asked if our attorney was sure that it was a picture of her house. Our attorney has to assure her that it was and that she had been in the house and that all the pictures were real. It is a huge beautiful house and I am sure she will be in for a shock when she gets here!
Of course, things just got complicated this week since my dh just got a call that they are calling him back to active duty on June first. Yikes, he will be going to Washington DC for six months. Has anyone completed an adoption and had only one spouse at home for awhile? We will be spending a lot of our summer in DC, but with 3 kids (soon 4) we will be crowded in a 2 bdrm apt. (At least there will be a pool)
We can't complain that our life is boring! My 14 yo son has decided that he wants to start a band and he wants to take drum lessons. Of course, I asked him where did he plan on putting those drums!? He said he'd find a spot! Tried (unsuccesfully) to convince him to do keyboard. LOL Teenagers!
Ya'll take care,
Felicia
