Bleak House was written by Charles Dickens
Synopsis
This story is about a young girl, Esther Summerson, who does not know her parentage, and was raised as an orphan by a lady named Miss Barbary who she thinks is her godmother. Miss Barbary dies and Esther is taken into custody of John Jarndyce.
Several character stories evolve throughout the book for each character with Esther in the middle of them. She wants to understand her past but learns to be content with what she has. She is loved by all she meets and helps others. In the end she is blessed with what she is searching for and more.
