Biography

1967-

American Athlete

Clausen was born in Trenton, New Jersey, and adopted as a baby. He graduated from Duke University in 1990 and is an administrative analyst for the Chapel Hill (North Carolina) Department of Solid Waste Management. He represented the USA at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the 20-kilometer race-walk.

He has a birth sister, adopted by a different family, whom he has traced and met, but he is still trying to find his birth parents, a task made more difficult because of lack of co-operation from the adoption agency which placed him.
