Hello, I was adopted from Russia when I was 1 years old. I was adopted from an American Single Mother. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing life here in New York. I found out I was adopted when I was 15 years old and now I am almost 21. Ever since I was 15 I dreamt about meeting my birth family. Not that I don't appreciate what I have today but just the thought of seeing someone that looks like me gets my heart pounding. Unfortunately I lost a lot of my documents in hurricane sandy and it is a pain to get them back. I was lucky enough to save my Russian passport and adoption papers. I was born on June 19 1998. My Russian name is Korovina Elena Anatolyevna. my adoptive mother adopted me in Russia Tyumen in 1999. I was speaking to one of my Russian friends and they told me that looking at my name my fathers name should be Anatoly Korovin. I do not know my Mothers name but the orphanage did tell my mom that I have a bother 2 years older then me that my family kept. I downloaded vk and ok.ru but haven't had any luck so far. I also emailed the Tyumen Archives and they told me my adoption is a secret. The only person who can get my records is my mother. My mother is not comfortable with sharing any information about my adoption. If anyone could help me on this long journey it would truly be a blessing. I just want to know... Thank you. - Kayla
