Hi Rozi, I just realized I replied to your post earlier and you are an adoptee. I hate using all this terminology like birth mom, adoptive mom, adoptee, birth day ect., but it is the best way to communicate in this reunion process. So you asked a few questions in your post "What do you feel concretely for that child" and I can answer you only what I feel for my son. <br />You asked "why do I love this child" and I loved my son the minute I knew he was growing in my tummy. I spent 9 months caring for him, reading to him, talking to hi, singing to him, and feeling him kick. When a woman gives birth there are intense emotional feelings for that child that will never leave her.After my son was taken from me to live in his adoptive family I still talked to my son every day, pictured what he might look like or what he might be doing, and missed him like crazy. I worried about him every day whether his family was treating him right, whether he missed me, whether he was ever told about me and what they had told him. I worried about him every time I thought about him. I waited for his phone call for 36 years. I tried to search for him with the little information I had. I looked at every childs face hoping to see a resembelance. I loved my son. When I got the email about my son, something so intense and warm just feeled by body and the hole I have been walking around with in my heart. I knew before seeing him or meeting him that I loved my son, but I really didn't know how much until we met.<br />Our first meeting was like we had known each other forever. I gave him his original birth certificate and a blanket I crochet for him when I was pregnant with him. I wanted to hold him so tight and never let him go. I wanted to find the nearest rocking chair and rock him and kiss him and sing to him. Even though it was 26 years later my heart has never had so much love in it for him as it does today. Even though my son has been testing me to no end from day one, I still feel that I would die for my son. I love all my children unconditionally, but with my son I have a lot of time to make up to him and he will know that I love him.<br />I am here if you need someone to talk to.

I was just curious if the reunion continued to be a success. I would love to hear atleast one successful reunion story to give me some hope for my own, which is not going well at the moment.
