The Judge has already ruled that baby is to remain with us while in care.

Our State Advocates placement with Relative for any child under the age of 10. Sounds like your ' DCYFS ' is moving towards that type of Advocacy!!!

Am I just stuck with this situation until Relative screws up somehow or until TPR is complete?

The previous caseworker did not document offering visits at around 5 months in care when the relative came in the picture. Even though we were witness to the conversation of her offering such visitation we were told it did not matter because it was not in writing. So relative threw a fit and said she wanted baby and that scared the CD so it ended up that after we had her for over 10 months they told us they were transitioning her to this relative and gave her 12 hours a week visits then we got a lawyer and Judge decided baby stays put. Now CD is saying that these visits have to remain at the same quantity that they are and it does not matter that baby is and has been having bad reactions to these visits like nightmares and becomes completely detached and blank when relative takes her and brings her back. Visits stopped for almost a month and Baby had no nightmares and no detaching issues at all and actually improved in some other social areas we have been working on since relative came in the picture.

What is the explaination or reasoning for the visitation, and both Professionally and as a Mom. I would not recommend other than Family for a 1 year old or any Infant??

What is a standard visitation arrangement for extended family(not parent or grand parent). Child is 1 and has been in care 15 months and 1 parent has 2 hour supervised visit. We have concurrent goal of RU and TPR.
