Can you adopt while on any type of assistance? I have been searching for this answer, but all that has been coming up is help for the child, but I'm asking for the potential adoptee. If you are not able to, do you also have to be off assistance in order to start the home study? I don't plan to start the process right away, as I'm not prepared any, just gathering info for the future.
