Trying to find birthparents - born in WV 1950

I was born at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, W Virginia. At 5 days old I was flown to Milwaukee, WI. My birth certificate says I was born in Milwaukee, WI on Jan 22, 1950. Is there any way I can get the hospital or Cabell County, W Virginia to open records? Any "curves" I can research to find information? I will be calling the Huntington Herald-Dispatch to try to get a copy of the birth announcements. Also how do you find the "non-identifying information" regarding an adoption? I cannot seem to start.
