My husband and I have just began our adoption journey. We are adoption from Moldova using Wasatch Adoption. We live in Texas. I would love to hear from anyone either from Texas or around the country who is just beginning their journey as well.

In case anyone is interested there is a new Yahoo group
for Moldova Adoption. You can find it at

There is also an e-list from the EEADOPT site
at [url]http://www.eeadopt.org,[/url] and check for adoption
lists. I have been on it for about a week and haven't
seen anyone post.
The yahoo group has a set of links, files, stuff in the
data base.
Please come in and check it out. It's still in the process
of being worked on (not sure if all the agencies are
correct) - but give it time. I'm a fast typer.

I'm please so far, though I'm still not too far along in the journey. They've been very helpful - especially by phone, email sometimes takes a day for a response but not everyone sits at their desk all day like I do. I'm in Oklahoma, so I can't meet the Wasatch folks face to face but they're very cooperative in helping me understand what I have to do for their end. I'm using Dillon International for the homestudy - it's probably the best local agency. I'm having my final interview tomorrow with the social worker so about to move into another waiting stage.

Thanks so much for your response. I just received an email from Carolyn at Wasatch who informed me that she sent the initial packet to me in the mail. I'm overwhelmed by a variety of emotions but am mostly excited to start this process. :D
I live about a 5hr drive from Ogden (WAI) so, if possible and/or needed, I plan to make a trip or two to meet with them.
I hope everything goes well with your homestudy. Let me know how it goes.

Well, finished the homestudy. Everything seems to be going very well right now. Had some problem with the doctor's letter, but after three trips to the dr. I finally typed the dern thing myself and let him sign it.
Stories from the Moldova listserv on Yahoo seem very positive. Several folks have just returned.
How's everyone (anyone?) else faring?

we had a 14 yr old girl at our home in june 2003. she came to us via IFS. we are having a very hard time with the adoption process. we thought all was going well & then a problem surfaced in that our young lady was never "registered" and now we hear this may take 6 months.
our friends had 2 kids from moldova and then found out that they were russian citizens.
