I see a lot of cute and interesting log in names on this forum. I was really curious what they stand for and how people came up with them. Are they nicknames and if so how did you get it? does it have a cute or funny story behind it? Some are obvious, some are not.
Mine is obviously just my birthname but nobody that knows me well actually calls me that. IT was shortened to just Lynn when I was born.
Anyone want to share how they came up with theirs? Just curious, thought it would be fun.
Have a great day,
Judilyn
It is so interesting reading these, I am enjoying it:D . User names are kind of like clever vanity license plates, When traveling I enjoy seeing others plates and trying to figure out what they mean. IT kind of makes you wonder about the people traveling in those cars, vans, etc. I just have regular plates because the name I wanted was already being used in 10 different ways.

The first part of my name reflects the home field of my favorite team - the Green Bay Packers. The last part of my screen name is part of my last name.
Go Pack Go!!!
Hi,
There is a story to my name ...
When I was born, Frank Sinatra was singing "Nancy with the smiling face" ... a song he wrote for his daughter (of these boots are made for walking fame) and my parents decided to name me Nancy because they love Frank Sinatra and the song. (I'm dating myself here, maybe no one remembers!). I had an English teacher in college who called me 'Nancy with the smiling face' and I told him, when I saw him, I always smiled because I was so happy to see him!
Nic is a shortened version of my last name ...
Thanks for the question Judilyn! You've got us all responding!

Hi,
My dream was to be a dancer ... so graceful and beautiful! I took tap and jazz dance lessons as a young girl ... and just the words 'ballet slippers' brings a gorgeous picture to mind ...
Thanks for writing and bringing back memories of my childhood!

Cleopatick, I've got you beat!
we now have 12 cats in the house!! Daisy, our newest cat, had 5 kittens last night.
the Chaos continues....
To all -
first of all, Judilyn, thank you ! I've been browsing this forum for (at least) an hour a day since I became a member, and although I haven't talked to any of you personally, I feel like I've gotten to know you all through your posts.
I've also wondered quite a bit about some of the names I've seen here (lemon chutney, echaos, radiodoll - you were definitely among them) but I've been blasted before for being too "nosy" online, so I didn't want to ask - especially with all the sensitive topics on this board, some people guard their privacy jealously, although not without good reason.
So, anyway, thanks for a fun post amidst all the concern and worry, congrats on the kittens, and Cleopatrick is beautiful - its rare to see male calicos, too, they're considered good luck!

ps - mine is rather obvious, but as I am searching, I wanted to be easy to find in case he's searching, too.:)But the icon actually is special - I love Celtic knots, the symbols of eternity, and to me this one represents a family - all separate, but bound together as well.

Only one cat here, but one son had a pirana for 15 years! It died of old age though the cat loved to bat at it through the glass. My a-son signed me up when we were browsing for adoption sites, and he obviously used my name. Had we thought about it we would have come up with something clever. Sometimes I think I'd like to reregister just for a bit of anonimity. Of what use is one's status anyway? Any discounts on trips? :) I can't think why starting over would be negative. I don't think I post often enough to be missed if I disappeared. It makes me wonder how many folks have registered more than once. Did they let their old identity die or do they now have multiple personalities! Maybe they even have a dialog going with themselves!
What a cute thread...
Echaos...I always thought your username read "e-chaos," meaning that you are online and that your life or household is always in a state of chaos...
I am hippiechick, which sometimes confuses people because they assume I am older than I am (I am 26). I chose the name because my mother always called me her "little hippiechick" when I was little. I was very different than my mother--I was always wanting to save the earth, became a vegetarian at a young age, always went barefoot, etc.
When they asked for a username, it was just what came to mind...
Hippiechick,
bmom of twins born 11/14/01
mother of daugther born 6/6/03

My husband nicknamed me Snuffie after an old cartoon where the character wore a straw hat and smoked a corn cob pipe.
He teased me that I looked just like him! (No I don't smoke a corn cob pipe!)

I guess mine is pretty obvious!
AJ is my initials and some people call me that.
And Luvsu sounds like "loves you" because I originally chose this screenname as my email address to message my friends.
:D
I am a little behind in my reading as we were away on vacation last week. It was great to see that this thread was still going. Thanks to everyone for letting us get to know you a little better.
