Dear Triad Community:
I only learned of my adoption a few years ago. And unfortunately, my records have been sealed. The information listed below is some of what I have been able to dig up. I would appreciate any information that anyone may be willing to share leading to my BPs.
Birth No:
Date: 8/28/66
Time: XXam Weight: XXlbs. oz.
City: New Orleans, LA
Adoption Agency: Children's Bureau
Law Firm: Baldwin, Haspel, Molony, Rainold & Meyer
Final Decree of Adoption Issued:
Hospital information has been removed/not included in my replacement birth certificate.
If my non-identifying information is accurrate, the approximate age of my BPs should be 50 & 51. If by chance either my birthparents or their siblings -- should find this post, please know that I have no issues with any of you. I'd simply like to understand me through you. Thanks.
Martin
Do you have any idea on how to access the indexes from New Orleans? You say you were born in 1966 I am looking for that same yr except for a female adopted from St. Vincents in 1966 in June. The best advice and its the best.. After helping two adoptees and working on my third your family is not so far from you- always remember that. Where they had you is probably the area they are still in. If I can help in anyway let me know. I am from that area as well. Not N.O but about 45 miles away.

Thanks for replying. I have no idea how to access the New Orleans indexes. If you could share "how to" access these records, I would be deeply grateful.
I believe that my Bfamily may be in the same area. However, I am no longer in the New Orleans area. I live in Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. Still, thanks for the advise.
And, I am sure that I will have a lot more questions as my search moves forward. If I can be of any assistance to you, please let me know.

Martin, I wish there were some way. Last night i stayed on till 5 am trying to access whatever I can. The way LA. Adoptions work from my understandings is first to have to have counceling before you even get to have anything. Obviously it is a tough state to get into. I personally know YOU can write the v.sof NewOrleans. Now if you would like me to get info on that for you I can do that. I have lived in the are for a long time but since then moved but I can still get it for you or find you a website that can. Alot of word of mouth also helps. The main thing is to find someone else who has already found their birth parents and then from there find out what they did etc..thats what I am trying to look for. You have your birth # and a good start. I will keep in touch and let you know anything I find out as well.
Linda2, I am not adopted but someone that I know is. She was born on are around June6-9 New Orleans St Vncents either hhosital or home?? don't know much. I am sooo close to finding them. This was in 1966. Thank you,

martin, Have you tried the Louisiana Adoption Registry? Also if you know the hospital you can go to http://theagapecenter.com/Hospitals/Louisiana.htm and look for the website for the hospital there. I didn't have any luck as i was born in the Methodist Home Hospital in New Orleans and the records have been sealed with the state. Now I have to fight them for my own records.
Sweet Pea & Martin, Word of mouth, gossip, Is your best options.. trust me I am still on this same girl for yrs now. It is nearly impossible. But I can say to try these things::: Go down to the health unit or Clininic where your first baby shots may have been. Go back to where your birth cerftificate states. Chances are its not that far away. It was ONLY through word of mouth I have found info on this girl. Depending on which area you are from I may or maybe not able to help you somehow. Martin it is amazing how you have your birth #. There are free helpers out there but some like to scam so be VERY CAREFUL. I am from T & L parish.

thanks for the heads up on the "too much info." I was so completely focused on getting out the maximum amount of info in the hope that someone who knows might see it. Oops! Duh. Thanks again.
