Do any of you have experience with any of these agencies? I'm trying to narrow down my choice for an agency to adopt from Belarus. I've spoken to IAG, but they seem so very expensive. Were there hidden charges any of you had with any of these agencies? Help would be appreciated. Thank You!

We used Small World and had a very positve experience. Their program seems expensive at first when comparing to other agencies; however, all the fees are upfront and when you travel to Belarus, your meals and stay in country are included. This is nice for us because at this point you have spent alot of money in a short period of time.
Our son is very healthy and we couldn't be more happy. Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I did not have one single doubt or concern - we have met so many people who have had positive experience with Small World. The only thing I would caution you on is the 'wait.' Things may have changed since July 2002 but it does take awhile.
If you do decide to go with them, you may want to consider making your own travel arrangements. We went into Warsaw a day earlier and then into Minsk the next day. It made a huge difference in how we felt from the long airplane ride considering you go straight to the orphanage and spend several hours with your child.
Good luck on your adoption journey.

I have used Small World Adoption Foundation twice. We adopted from Ukraine and Belarus. The staff was very helpful and there was no surprise fees or cost, everybody was very upfront. I felt like I was told every thing that would happen and thats the way it did happen. We were taken care of very well when we travelled on both occasions. We were in Ukraine 3 weeks on 2001 and in Belarus 8 days in 2002. We were told by the agency we would be SAFE, WARM, and WELL FED and that is exactly the way it was. Our 2 children are in excellent health. I hope this helps if you have not yet made your decision. If you have more questions please feel free to e-mail me.
