Information on Quebec searches (from adoptee Terry who found his birth family):
"The search tool that works best is this quasi official agency called CENTRE JEUNESSE de QUEBECThe director is Marie-Paul Mastoumecq she does not speak good English. The person to ask for is:Ellen Gagon phone number: 418-661-6951 fax: 418-661-2845 address: 2951, avenue DU bourg-Royal, Bueaport Quebec G1c3s2(all you need is your name, date of birth, adopted parents name and city of birth)I believe they can find your file with names and date of birth only. You should ask for all information available in your file to be sent to you, They will send all they can. I got my non- ID in three weeks. Along with non-ID are forms for them to do a search for you. The search costs around $500 (American)... payable in three stages. I highly recommend this if a search is necessary. If the person you are looking for has also been in contact with their office that is an instant mach. In those cases they give you names and addresses of the person you are looking for.Anyway I sent in the $180 (American) for the first stage and they found b-mom in three weeks it seems to move very fast. This seems to be the only location that has centralized the adoption files from the Quebec Province.Up until recently it was the local churches that keep all birth/marriage and adoption records thus making searching Quebec very difficult. ŔFor free searches I don't know but scanning the many boards in French has improved my French but that is about it."
Here is some information for searching in Ontario, Canada. I hope you find the information helpful in your search:

Have you had any luck with your original posting? I am writing as another birth father looking for a daughter born in 1982 in BC. I would be interested in contacting or hearing from other birth fathers looking for a child in BC. Feel free to post me off the forum.
