Hi Everyone:
I plan on seeing this movie coming up soon with some dear friends of mine. It is entitled "Casa de los Babys." So far I have heard mixed reviews.
Here is a postive review:
From a recent review: "John Sayles is in sublime form here, tackling a
highly touchy subject with an intelligence and delicacy that sacrifices
nothing in
drama or emotion. The premise: Six American women have each traveled to an
unspecified Latin American country in order to adopt a baby. The title hints
at a
clash of language and culture, but Sayles is determined neither to lionize
nor villainize either side of the
equation. Instead, as in all his best work, his only wish is to humanize the
conflict, and he succeeds admirably.
I also have read some reviews that were not as positive as the one above from Adoption Professionals. I will let you know my review in the next few weeks if all goes well I will get to see it.
If others have seen it please post to this thread.
It may be interesting to see how many different reviews with perhaps differing opinions or viewpoints we may gather.
Thank you very much.
