Hi, I didn't know that we could get advice on names here! How fun! Well we hope to be referred a newborn from Haiti in a few months, and many of the babies if abandoned don't have names or the hospital names them... we might keep the name he or she is given, but we'd like to have some choices of our own too... so what do you think...
Boy- Kaiden Micah (or spell it Kaden or Kadin?)
Jamison Micah
Benjamin Micah
Girl- Maisy Ella
Brennan Taylor (or spell it Brenin Tailor)
Stella Mae
Feel free to voice your thoughts! Thanks:p

Thanks for your help and advice! We still aren't sure, but maybe we could just have a few in mind and when we see her little face we will know. If I think of any more names I will come here for help, you guys are great:)
oh and I did find out that Maile which I thought was pronounced Maylee is really pronounced Mylee in Hawaiian... so we might cross that one off our list:rolleyes:
This is so hard for me for some reason! But still fun...

So we think we have a daughter afterall!!! We are just waiting to hear that she is as healthy as she looks and she will officially become ours:) She was born on July 20th, 2003 but I think she might be older than 7.5 months?! Her birthname is Tabita... we are thinking of calling her Tabitha Ashlyn (just have to add the h to make it American). Here are her pictures... we just love her!
Whatever you name her. I can understand just Americanizing her name, but when I was reading through the thread I have to say that I LOVE the name Malia (not sure I am spelling it correctly).
How long 'til you bring baby home? Will it be safe with the recent violence there (I'm sure you probably want to get her out of there as soon as possible).
D.
Hi D,
Thanks for your post. We still love the name Malia too, but I think she is already a Tabitha now. Maybe she will have a little sister some day:) The situation in Haiti is very unstable and we do want her out ASAP. We have to be patient as things are on hold for adoptions right now. I have contacted everyone from the President to local news and we are getting signs that things will improve, but we don't know when. We were on the news talking about it just last week. I'll update everyone when we find out more. Take care.

Hi everyone! Well, our Haitian adoption is taking a bit longer than we had thought, and we still don't know who our baby is:( We did hear that a baby girl just came to the orphanage, so maybe she is the one! We will see! The only problem is we have a boys name picked (Kaden Micah), and still can't decide on a girls ... so I came here for more help ... it is funny, because we got a huge sign with the boys name. We had Kaden on our list and it was really our first choice and then when we began to question it my husband met a darling little 2 yr old African American boy at his store. He said the little boy grabbed on to his leg and wouldn't let go, then his mother started calling him "Kaden". He was so excited to call me and share the story, and that is how we decided on that. OK sorry to go on and on, back to the girls names! We still haven't ruled out all of the first names on our list up there, but many mixed feelings about them led us to look for more...
1) Malia - Hawaiian for calm and peaceful and I saw a darling Haitian girl with that name but I'm not sure if it is pronounced the way I am saying it, Ma (like Madonna) and lia just like Leah...??? Husband and grandparents like Malia too, which is a plus:)
2) Maile - vine that grows in Hawaii. Pronounced like Maylee???
3) Ashlyn
Any advice and help is appreciated! This is so hard for some reason, maybe when we see her face or her birthname we will know! Thanks everyone, Taryn
