Hi everyone,
I am about to start a lifebook for my daughter, who came home with me from China last year. Like most Chinese adopted babies, she was abandoned by her birthparents and then taken to an orphanage.
I was wondering if anyone could help with ideas for how to word a page for her book titled nothing like "where I was found" but meaning that! (I've taken lots of photos of the town and location). One positive is that the location was busy and bustling. Obviously, she was intended to be found quickly!
I want to give my daughter all the information about her that I have, but I want to present it positively and not hit her over the head with cold facts.
THanks
Tina
Hum, could you write "where I was placed to be found..."? or maybe start with "I was gently placed in the town of _____, where I was found wrapped in a white blanket" ?
That is a hard one... just explain that she was placed there so she would be found and cared for... Good Luck!

Tina,
Indeed this topic is very difficult. Here is something I've read, that perhaps might work for you....
I have heard "being left" described as "carefully placed with hope" so perhaps "being found" could be worded as a "fulfillment of the birthparents' wishes". (age-appropriate of course, so maybe not those exact words)
Or, another idea would be to put it from the perspective of the person that found your daughter by saying "she was in the right place at the right time".
I hope that helps a little.
Thank you Taryn and Jennifer for your replies.
I liked them both.
I particularly liked "placed to be found" and also the idea of my daughter being found as her birthparent's had hoped.
I think I will include both of these ideas.
Thanks
Tina and Ella
