is everyone? Are ya all out there pumpin' iron and eating Wheaties?:)
How is everyone and has anyone got any news to share?
We are still waiting to be matched and trying to keep busy. Well keeping busy isn't at all hard to do. It's keeping the mind busy with things other than the adoption that's hard.
Would love to see more action here.;)

Hi Judy,
I've really been getting a kick reading all the posts from all of the "over 40's" out there and finally have a chance to respond.
My wife and I are 46 and 48 yo respectively and having the time of our lives raising our 6 yo son and 1-1/2 yo daughter both of whom were adopted as infants.
Yeah, we need the Wheaties and the ocassional trips to the gym (our local YMCA has family swim every night). There are times where we both wish we could sleep in over the weekends like the old days but we wouldn't trade our life for the world.
Good luck in your pursuit. How long have you been waiting to be matched?

I'm still around. Gave up pumping iron about half way through the summer, but am thinking I need to try again ;-)
I DO have some news. After waiting a very long eight months, I received a referral! The baby girl was born on September 18 in Guatemala and placed for adoption. I learned that she would be my daughter on September 19.!
YIPPEE!
I don't have any other details but expect more this coming week. I'm very happy. This process is much more real to me now.
I agree with you -- it is difficult to think about stuff other than this!
Best wishes to you, Judy!
Elizabeth,
Congratulations to you on the birth of your daughter!
Our 6 yo son is Guatemalen although he was born here and our good friend is in the process of adopting a baby girl from Guatemala (born, I believe, last May). She is on Cloud 9 right now as she is leaving in a few weeks to bring her home.
Once again, that is great news.
Tim
Thank you!
I've been scouring the web for a high chair, toy box, bookshelf, closet storage, lamp, rug! Eegads! Nurseries are expensive! (Yeah, I know... just wait!)
That's great news about your friend bringing her baby home. It gives me faith that this process will work out!
Have fun with your kids!
Hi Dadtotwo,
I finally got your name right.LOL! On the general adoption forum i've been calling you Dadfor2.
so happy that you are enjoying your children so much. Yes, we have to make sacrifices but they are so worth it!:)
Since it took nine years befor dh was ready to adopt again you could say I've been waiting 9yrs and 2mos.:D That is why this waiting process is so hard for me. I'm sooo ready!!
We do also have a bio son who is 27 and a daughter who was born in Romania who just turned sweet sixteen in August. We are now waiting to be matched with single/twin infant.
Nice talking with you!

Elizabeth....this is WONDERFUL news!!!!!! We are still waiting for our next baby.......and even after many adoptions.....this wait is DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!
We have recently signed up with another agency out of state---so we'll hope the wait won't be long!!!!
Sincerely,
Linny
Thank you!
I hope your waits are short! This "unpredictable" component is NOT fun!
Hey guess what... When I was grocery shopping this evening, I found myself irresistibly drawn to purchasing a box of cereal (I almost never eat cereal unless it's for dinner ;-). Of course, you've figured how what kind, right? WHEATIES! LOL! I've never had wheaties!
