I would like to know if a hospital social worker has the right to interfer with an adoption. The birthmother wanted me there, she had me follow her to the hospital so there would be no problems. The social worker rudely and unprofessionally threw me out of the hospital. I was not permitted in the hospital at all. He yelled at me and did not even let me go in to say goodbye to the birthmom. When my husband asked to see the policy, he said whether it was verbal or in writing adoptive parents were not allowed in the hospital at all. Were our civil rights violated. Wow! I can't believe you had that bad experience!
I live in California and we just took our second
adopted child home from the hospital. We were
there when she was born and spent the 3 days in
the hospital nursery rocking and feeding her.
We used an agency and they gave the hospital paperwork before hand regarding the birthmom and us.
