Hello,
I'm new here and just wanted to post a "howdy." :-) Our daughter came home from Korea in 2001 at 5 1/2 mos of age. We're just getting ready to start a new homestudy to adopt again. We go back and forth! We were thinking we'd go through Korea again, but we're also open to domestic minority adoption.
We also recieved a packet in the mail today, from WACAP, and are looking in to adopting a waiting child through their program. SO many decisions!
At any rate, I'm just tickled to have found this message board!
Blessings,
LouAnne

Welcome LouAnne,
We returned home from Korea in August this year with our daughter who was a waiting child thru WHFC. She was a 29 weeks preemie, but to see her you'd never know. Other than being a little bit small, she's all caught up to where she needs to be. In fact at nopt quite 11 months she's trying to walk, has been for about a week. Good luck to you and your family as you decide which avenue to pursue. Shelley

Congratulations on your precious daughter! How wonderful she's catching up so quickly and doing so well. We suspected our Hannah was a premie, but no one really knows. She was 5lbs 2oz at birth and was hospitalized shortly after birth for five days. Of course the low birthweight could have been due to another issue, but she did seem to need to catch up once she came home. She's doing so well, except for some language delays now. She is SUCH a joy and blessing to us! I still pinch myself when we get hugs at night. :-)
Blessings,
LouAnne
Hi LouAnne,
Welcome & congratulations! We adopted our son through domestic adoption 18 months ago. They grow so fast!
We had a great agency in Virginia Beach that does both domestic and international adoptions. I've met several familes who've done 'both' with them.
Best of luck whichever path you choose.
