How long for social security card?

Hi, My daughter was born in PA, we live in PA, finalized in PA end of June. Sptember 11th we got Birth certifiacate and I went to Social Security office and applied for card. We still haven't received it. I tried calling and the wait to talk to someone was 11 minutes and Fiona started crying so I hung up and later emailed then via there web site and never got an answer. How long did it take eveyone else?

Thanks to budget cuts, it can take up to 6 - 8 weeks for the card to arrive. Our son's arrived 6 weeks after we applied.

I guess I am not very patient now that we got this far, I thought the lady at the office said 1-2 weeks but I thought that seemed too quick.

It used to take 1-2 weeks! We applied around the same time you did for our last little one and also haven't received it yet! As the above poster mentioned, it is taking 6-8 weeks. Our other adopted babies all received their cards within two weeks(this was just last January).
