How We Met
We met on Match.com, no kidding!
Wedding Bells
They say the Lord works in mysterious ways, and we can certainly attest that he does! We actually met on Match.com (no kidding!). JD had been online for several months without any successful matches, when I (Kelsey) just joined and sent him a message; he actually had to renew his subscription to see it, but he was glad he did!
We went on our first date at a Longhorn Steakhouse in June of 2016, and we were engaged by September of that same year (hey, when you know, you know)! We got married in our home church in July of 2017, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Hi, I'm Kelsey! I love Jesus, and I am a board-certified physician assistant. I treat all ages, from infants up to older folks. I get to do physical exams, take and review x-rays, order and interpret labs, and prescribe medicines. Sometimes I even get to do fun procedures like sutures or setting a dislocation back into place! Providing relief for my patients is such a fun part of my job!
-I LOVE to read. I enjoy almost any fiction, but I have to say murder mysteries are probably my favorite.
-I know how to pull my own espresso shots (but JD thinks it's just 'hot bean water').
-I enjoy cooking, baking, running or hiking, and archery.
-I am fluent in ASL (American Sign Language), and I speak passable Spanish, but I'm learning more every day to help my patients!
-I spent a summer in Africa and LOVED IT!

Hey, I'm JD, and I love Jesus. I work as a truck driver for an oil company. I went to technical school to learn how to weld, but I can also mechanic a little bit, too. I enjoy spending time with my dogs (Maxine and McCoy), watching an old show called MASH (if you know, you know), and eating Flaming Hot Cheetos.
-I am an excellent swimmer and have a PADI dive certification.
-I got to dive with sharks in the Bass Pro Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri.

As an twin adoptee, I was beyond thrilled when James and Kelsey shared the news of their pending adoption and status of active parents. Without going into the trials and tribulations of being an adoptee; It is my belief that any child/children (I'm aware they would take more then one) would be lucky and blessed to be adopted by James and Kelsey. I work with James and have for several years; and man what a pleasure he is to work with. Complete team player; clearly a country boy as his work ethic is second to none. Through the years I have come to consider him not just a co-worker but a friend. He is one of those people that is just a pleasure to be around and feathers in your cap to call him friend. I have also had the occasional interaction to work around Kelsey; as I have had to take employee's to her Medical Offices for treatment and or consultation. Completely professional and always has a smile on her face. Aside from their work; socializing with them outside work is light hearted, pleasant and filled with conversation and laughter. It is clear that they are a loving couple and adore each other with so much love to give. And if you want an experts opinion; my dogs love James to death!

Summer Vacation 2024
In June of this year (2024), we had the privilege of going to Walt Disney World for vacation (and a medical conference for Kelsey). We had so much fun!! We have never been to a Disney Park before and did not know what to expect, so we went with eyes wide open to see and do and taste everything! We got to spend a day in each park (Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom), and we saw so many unique things. In Epcot, trainers and researchers were asking a dolphin to match different pictures to test his vision, memory, and cognition! We enjoyed sampling food and drinks from around the world, and even found our names in a family crest registry there. At Hollywood studios, we got to ride a Star Wars ride and enjoyed bouncing along on Slinky Dog’s coaster. While it rained pretty much the entire day at Magic Kingdom, we didn’t let that dampen our fun! We got to ride the spinning tea cups, scream through the haunted mansion, and visit with the Beast in his castle at “Be Our Guest!” And the fireworks show was SPECTACULAR! Our last day at Animal Kingdom, we got to see the veterinarian team treat a cold-shocked sea turtle, we took to the skies on Avatar’s Flight of Passage, and returned to our childhood (if only for a moment) to watch the Festival of the Lion King. The experience was so wonderful, and we can only imagine how much more precious it will be to take our little one next time!
Vacation March 2024
JD and I (Kelsey) just got to spend almost a week in Branson, Missouri with our families! JD got to see his parents and both his brothers, and all of his nephews (though his nieces didn’t make it because they had sporting events). I got to see my mom, my sister and her husband and my niece and nephew. We got to go to the Bass Pro Aquarium (JD actually got to dive there with sharks a few years ago), visit Silver Dollar City, and attend Dolly Parton’s “Stampede” show. We had sooo much fun! There were many good meals, lots of laughs, and a few tears when we had to pack up and leave. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation, and we hope to be able to do something like this again soon! We hope to be able to do this with an adopted baby someday!
