when is it a good time to stop and open the legal sealed documents after an adoptee has turned of age?
I am a mother of two beautiful children and they are askin so many questions that I can not answer, should I look into opening my papers?
Rosemary,
Depending on what state you are in, you could get your records open for medical reasons...
I think I saw you post that you were adopted by a grandparent? If so, does that make your birthmother your sister, legally speaking?
Sealed adoption records never just "become unsealed", you have to go thru a judicial process...you have to show good reason for needing them open...and so on.
I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for as far as records go...if your birthmother is blood related to your adoptive mother, couldnt you just ask her for medical history?
