WE BELONG TO THE SITE YOU WERE REFERING TO AND HAVE NEVER MET SUCH A NICE AND SUPPORTING GROUP OF FAMILIES. LIMIAR HAS BEEN WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH THROUGH OUR PROCESS. ADOPT BRAZIL IS A SEPARATE GROUP FROM LIMIAR. THEY HAVE A GOOD REASON FOR BEING SELECTIVE FOR ENTERING THE GROUP AND I THINK RUMOR SPREADING PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD BE A GOOD EXAMPLE OF WHY THE PEOPLE ARE SCREENED.

Hi, I'm a Canadian from GTA and noticed your post -- have you made any further progress with adopting from Brazil. We too are interested in this country and I have just sent an email to St. Anne's for more info. I was wondering if you have moved forward and could provide any info. thank you.
:)
I have some adoption information on my webpage
http://www.myadoptionlinks.com/Brazil
There are actually three adoption groups for Brazil
besides the one discussed above. You might try
them as well:
Brazilian Adoption Parents Support Group - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/braziliandoptionparentssupportgroup
Brazil Adoptions - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BrazilAdoptions
There are also some general Latin American groups that you
migh want to consider as well:
Lapa New Jersey - http://www.lapa-nnj.com/newsgroup.htm (list of lists)
Lapa.com - http://www.lapa.com/listserv/index.cfm
Latin America Adopt - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LatinAmericaAdopt
Latina Adopt - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/latinadopt
I also found two other Canadian Agencies that adopt fromBrazil.
Choices Adoption - http://www.choicesadoption.ca
Sunrise Adoption (B.C.) - http://www.sunriseadoption.com
Hope you can use some of this.

I am in the process of adopting form Brazil and I am working with Saint Anne's. So far they have been wonderful. I have just been approved by the ministry and we are sending my package to Brazil for their approval. If anyone has any questions about Brazil or Saint Anne's I would be happy to help.
I did notice that a few of these posts were from some time ago so updates on everyones progress would be great. I am especially looking for people in Ontario who are adopting from Brazil.
Becca

Hi Helena,
I tried to e-mail you but the address wasn't right or something. Anyway I would be more then happy to share any experiences I have had with the adopting process with you.
Have you decided on Brazil or are you still looking at other countries? WHere in Ontario are you? Just trying to figure how close you are to me. I have been very happy with Saitn Annes thus far and am happy the adoption seams to be progressing now. THe ministry is taking about twice as long as they should be but that part is done now!
You can e-mail me if you would like at
jirocct@yahoo.com
Thanks
Becca
Yes, we adopted two wonderful and handsome siblings from Brazil in March, and it was done with the help of LIMIAR. If you need more details please write to me at meuanjo@juno.com

Ilke,
I am very happy to hear about your two boys, it gives me hope that I will to, hopefully soon, have my child here with me!
I have heard conflicting reports on Limar, good and bad, mostly from this forum. I hate to say it but I don't know who they are or what they do. You mentioned that they have offices in Toronto? As far as I know Saint Annes is the only Adoption agency in Ontario working with Brazil. Please excuse my ignorance, but I would really appreciate some information on Limar, especially if they can help me after I bring my child home to teach about Brazilian culture and such.
Thank you,
Rebecca

Rebecca,
I read some of the horrible comments on LIMIAR, and I just assume these are people who like to spread rumors. Honestly it is the place to go, unless you are looking for infants, which is very hard to find in Brazil. We have been more than blessed with Limiar. Nancy Cameron, the director, is the most respectable and honest person you will ever meet.
I would love to talk to you, and please send me mail to my meuanjo@juno.com

Hi Becca
We are from Alberta and thinking about going with St. Anne to adopt from Brazil. When did you start your process with them? How long did it take to get the approval from the Ministry? What age of child are you wanting?
I contacted Limiar and asked about children available. Nancy told me that I we would only qualify for a child 6 years of age and older. We really want a little girl age 4 years. Does anyone have any comments. Has anyone adopted children younger through Limiar? How?
Becca I would love to hear how things are going for you and more about your experiences with St. Anne. Please email me privately if you want.

Would also like to hear from other Canadians in the process.
Thanks
