I would like to know the copywrite rules of forums/adoption.com.
Can a person take a quote from a message and pass it on to a friend? Can a person do this if the name of the poster and location is given?
I am thinking of the rules of copywrite (of a book) and quoting for reasons of discussion..

I am not use exactly what you are asking---are you wanting to write a book and quote from here? Or just talk to a friend and refer to the site?
If you are writing a book or article---consult your AP or MLA or editor and check the terms of this website---everyone here should be using alises and 'quotes' for any 'real' book would require a 'real' name.....

I believe the rules of these forums are made very clear on the relevant pages of the site.

When I post something here I can later cancel it both here and on Google's search engine. If however someone copies all or parts of my post elsewhere without my knowledge or permission, it becomes much more difficult for me to remove from the Internet, what has been copied, should I wish to do so.
Copyright issues aside, I think common courtesy and netiquette would tell most people that it is quite simply wrong to copy what has been posted here to other forums such as Usenet groups, without the clear prior permission of the author.
It is easy enough to draw attention to items here by quoting the URL of the individual post e.g. http://forums.adoption.com/t121259.html no real need at all to copy.

That is interesting.. Of course it makes sense..
Thank you and thank you Robin for your replies..
