Has anyone worked with World Partners, BASS, or ACCEPT?
I'm in the process of choosing agencies and debating whether to adopt from Panama or Guatemala? BAAS and ACCEPT only work with Guatemala, and they're close to my home.
World Partners works with Panama, and World Partners is out of state.
Any thoughts?
Hi Kendra. We are with World Partners in Georgia, and we live in Tennessee. They mail, e-mail or fax whatever we need, and we talk on the phone as well. I don't see any need for direct face-to-face contact. There are no agencies in my city that have programs in Latin America, so I had no choice but to go outside the state. So far, everything has gone very smoothly.

I don't know anything about World Partners programs in Guatemala or Panama, but I have heard wonderful things about their programs in Kazakhstan. They seem to be very highly regarded and efficient.

You should also check out Faith International. Their fees are less AND they've actually completed at least one adoption (maybe two). Nobody else has, other than Commonwealth, and they had quite a few problems with theirs.
Of course, I'm sure Commonwealth has things squared away and is doing a wonderful job now, as is WPA. Just remember there are quite a few agencies doing Panama adoptions now, but only two with completed adoptions.

I can say nothing but great things about World Partners. We live near their office, but we don't see them, we email or talk on the phone. So I don't think being out of state would make any difference. We are adopting from Kaz, but did our dossier for Guatemala first. Then we decided we could not take the stress of Guatemala during the summer. (When things basically came to a halt.) So we changed. To show how great they are we emailed them at 8pm on a week night saying we want to change countries. We got a phone call with in 15 minutes. They understood that personally we could not take the stress of it and we were willing to redo a dossier for Kaz. But they have had great sucess with Guatemala so far, I know of 3 families coming out of PGN recently. They were about the same time as us (done with Dossier around April or May) so I think that is great timing.
WPA has always been upfront with us and very responsive. I could never imagine using another agency. We will be traveling to Kaz sometime the beginning of next year and they always make us feel informed and safe. They also just opened a program in Columbia, just in case you are interested.
Hello Kendra! My name is Ann. I am also looking into various agencies and countries for adoption. World Partners has programs in Guatemala and Panama. I have talked to several people who have used World Partners, and they have been very happy with the agency.
Are you adopting as a single person? Have you heard any helpful information about the differences between adopting from Panama and Guatemala?
I am seriously considering Panama right now. I'd love to hear any information you might have about the children being adopted from there and their adjustments to their new homes.

I would highly recommend World Partners. Good people and trustworthy. I didn't realize they had a Guatemalan program now. Good for them and for adoptive parents.
