Medicine is sometimes helpful for children with ADD or ADHD, but it's not for everyone. Some children may benefit more from learning how to cope with AD/HD through organizational strategies, learning techniques, and ways to deal with the social part of their disability. Many adults find the use of a coach beneficial in reaching their potential and achieving their goals, however, few coaches are available that work with children and their families. For parents of a child recently diagnosed with ADD or ADHD, the diagnosis can be extremely stressful and confusing.
