round trip through Lufthansia for 439.00 each. Our daughters ticket was bargained at through the travel agency and they got her fair down from 1359.00 to around 900.00. We checked after getting there and fround that we could buy her ticket round trip from Romania for 300.00. We called the travel agent and cancelled the earlier ticket. Also, on our tickets we were able to change dates for 150.00 each.

Good Luck!
I will be going to Ukraine in Dec.... will it be cheaper for me to get a ticket for the child when I do... or wait untill I am there to get a ticket?
yes, northwest does have adoption fares, as does delta and KLM i believe. there are also several websits that do travel arrangements for adoptive parents and are able to get reduced rates
we were also told not to buy the ticket for your child, as many airlines if they are not full will let them fly free if the seats are available. this has been told to me by many people.

Thanks... that is what I was told also!! that most likely they will let them go free. I am traveling alone and do not know any other language..... AHHHHHHHHH!!
Beware of this. The discount is off a FULL fare, which is a lot more than you might think. The advantage is flexibility and being able to get on certain flights. But if you're looking to actually save money, then we found you're FAR better off using a travel agent who specializes in adoption travel. We used Azumano travel; another is Federal Travel, and there are others too. Azumano got us a fare that was 1000 dollars cheaper PER PERSON than the NW adoption fare!
