I am pretty sure that I have already signed the petition for N.Y. to open records. Just wanted to say that the day there is OPEN RECORDS EVERYWHERE that will be a great day. I hope I see it in my lifetime. I was fortunate enough to have been able to petition the court in Minnesota and got a court order to get my OBC. That should not be a matter of luck or the discretion of one judge. I am both an in-family adoptee and a mother who lost her only child to adoption. We are reunited. I got his OBC for him and he was thrilled. WHAT WERE PEOPLE THINKING WHEN THEY MADE THESE LAWS. It should be a human right of everyone to be able to have there birth certificat,the real one, not the forged one. Just one adoptees opinion.
