This is my first posting. My favorite aunt, Nancy from South County, was forced to give up for adoption a baby girl around the same time that I was born, sometime between '60 and '62. The birth itself may have been in Providence and I do not know any other details. I am the oldest of our cousins and although my aunt has never mentioned this birth to me, she has remained unmarried, with the same boyfriend of 40+ years and I can attest to her sensitivity to this unfortunate loss in her life. She was a de-facto mother to me and I love her very much. I can only hope that if you are out there, you can appreciate the times of this adoption and specifically, the family pressures in her life.
Nothng would make me happier than to facilitate a mutual introduction. I can only imagine the doubts you've had. We come from an old, loving family and your return in whatever capacity you wish would be welcome. As your oldest cousin, I am here for you now or whenever the time is right
If possible, you should give your aunt information about the RI Voluntary Passive Registry program. It's entirely possible that her child is registered and hoping for her to do the same.
Here's the website.
